Eclectic Approach is simply the most exciting live act to emerge from the inland Northwest in the last 15 years. Flavored with all the essential ingredients of a clean, funk - rock four piece; stacked with a triple front attack of rich brown eyed soul group, Eclectic Approach is connected on another level by a commitment to practicing the positive they produce, while lesser acts just preach. Day in and Dayout, they evolve as musicians and performers through a music that is as much their own, as it is the soundtrack to the lives of the amazing& dedicated fan base they revere, The Eclectic Crew. It would be quite a task to find an emerging act, in any genre that can match the passion for their craft that Eclectic Approach has demonstrated week by week, show by show, fan by fan over the last 5 years in the great Northwest.

Yet not to be forgotten, in the shadow of their character and stage presence, is the SOUND of Eclectic Approach. Out of the crucible &cold sweat of experience, collaboration, and good ol’ fashion wood sheddin’, comes this Molotov cocktail; a blast of freestyle precision, thought provoking lyricism, dual guitar solos & pitch perfect harmony. In coming is the sound that has yet to be stuffed into just another safe and appropriate box. Inside them rages good intention, providing passion with out paradox, as they pull you front stage center and greet you eye to eye. See them live. Get so close to that solid gold soul, meets stone cold groove that it blows your hair back.

When you arrive at an Eclectic event, the first person you’ll probably notice is guitarist Ryan Jander, the bull whip of kinetic energy, comparable to James Brown doing his best impression of Flea. Along with Ryan, the co- front men are absolutely athletic in preparation and it pays. As if they have the answer to cold fusion, they rise when other bands fade. Jowed Hadeed, the Poet Laureate, displays and physically conveys a mind bending redefinition of the English language, with all the dervish acrobatic of a SUFI POET (that runs through his veins).Partner in crime, vocalist Mark Putnam pulls from the richest wells.Putnam milks his deep southern grasp for melody, bringing a singer-songwriter sensibility he serves up his with molasses, bringin’ it on home with the cold sweat dramatics of a young Otis Redding(frontin' the Pine Tops).

. . .And then the beat drops; from the gut to the bucket groove likeP-Funk jumpin' in The JB's shoes, is a rap group reborn a very soon to be great band, following the plan; payin' the serious dues it requires to produce & promote their break through recording, Be Yourself.

But let us not forget the engine, and the freshest addition to an already formidable assault. Without thunder there is no lightning.Without the rhythm section Eclectic Approach spent years searching for, they would nothing worth their weight. Brian Paxton (drums) and Chris Wadsworth lay down the damn fine foundation for every improvisation, and take the power of their heavier influences in stride as they wait to unleash a metallic streak that belies their allegiance to The Pocket. With the addition of young lion, guitar virtuoso, Justin MacDonald. . .it’s just not really fair is it?

Don’t just buy their record because all your friends did. See Eclectic Approach when they hit a town near you, and buy the record again for your little brother (or sister). He’ll thank you again when he starts the band.
