Peace to Greenlandlive.net and the entire hiphop universe! The group consists of slim and fatz, two mc's with contrasting styles. Fatz the aggressive, up in your face mc and Slim the metaphorical slick talker. Long time friends and life long fans of real hip hop music, Da Circle was founded by Fatz. Formerly known as the Usual Suspects and consisting of 6 members, time and troubles dwindled the numbers down to what is presently known as Da Circle. The name Da Circle derives from the inner circle of comrades and the completeness of our understanding of all elements of the hip hop culture, 360 degrees. Our influences are many but there are several notables, including EPMD, Notorious BIG, Big Pun, Naughty by Nature, Wu tang and Jay Z.  On a personal level, our Rebel Army brothers are major influeneces. In particular, Poison Pen for putting us on in the biz, Immortal Technique for believing in our music and DJ Static and Ariel at Westward productions for transforming our sound from amateurs to professional. Our fans run the gammet through the entire spectrum of hip hop culture; we make music for one and all! Our goals are to leave a lasting legacy in the game that can be a guide for future artists to use and for fans to appreciate. The Beethoven and Bach of hip hop, nothing but classic material!!! Today's sorry state of hip hop is the main motivation we have to restore the dignity of a once proud culture. We want to make sure that gimmick rap is abolished from existence. ORIGINALITY IS KEY! That's why our last album, The S.A.F.E. (the slim and fatz episode) was made; no gimmicks, no singing, just dope beats and two mc's gettin' busy! The roles we have in the group are simple; Slim is the guru and Fatz is the business man. We have a simple saying within the group, 'Slim will make us famous and Fatz will make us rich.' On our journey we've had many moments but our defining one was in November of ' 06, Times Square New York, Nokia theatre. Immortal Technique and Method Man, sold out venue. An hour before the start of the show, Technique let us know that we would be opening the show.   Imagine that, during sound check we find out that the first voices to be heard on such a huge night would be ours!  We performed a track from The SAFE called 'Underground' and needless to say we killed it! We found out just recently while on tour with Technique that he did that to test us and to make sure we were always on point. Currently, we're wrapping up our second album, The S.A.F.E 2. We're featured on the new Immortal Techinque/DJ Green Latern project called '3rd World'. We'll also be appearing on the upcoming Poison Pen release 'The Money Shot'. Also, check for us on the new DJ G.I. Joe mixtape 'Underworld 4'. We're preparing to head back out on the road with our Rebel Army brothers, we'll be touring the states and overseas.
