Really though, he and I met and immediately hit it off musically. We tend to really compliment eachother's writing style. He always comes up with something perfect when I hit a wall and I tend to do the same for him. I had been potentially joining Wes's project at the time, and when he heard what we were doing he hopped on board. Anthony is someone I've known for a while. Our old bands had played together a lot and I was stoked that we ended up being free for this at the same time. Andy is in the same boat, a great guy with a ton of drive and talent who I've known for a while. Andy and Anthony have played together for years as well. Dave is an old friend of Wes's that can shred for sure. We've all played in really heavy bands for years and years, we all just happened to be at a point, musically, where we wanted to focus more on just being great songwriters. GreenlandLive.net Asks - How did you come to be known as Again and Again? It's short, simple, sweet and beautiful. We fell in love with the name immediately. I think it sums up our experiences in music. You hit a lot of walls, but you just have to keep going and NEVER GIVE UP! GreenlandLive.net Asks - Who and what are your influences? We have a TON of influences. Far too many to list all of them. But we like to listen to a ton of bands such as, This Providence, Paramore, The All-American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, and stuff like that. But we've got a very diverse musical background. We listen to everything from old school hardcore to Radiohead. GreenlandLive.net Asks - How would you describe your audience? Absolutely amazing. I've never felt so connected with fans before. They are the best. We couldn't ask for anything more. GreenlandLive.net Asks - What are your goals as a group? To make music that we love; that's the ultimate goal! We, of course, want to tour and play shows every night and meet our fans and make new friends. But in the end, we want to be proud of the music we've made. And at this point in time in our careers we are very proud of the music we are making. GreenlandLive.net Asks - What drives your music? We're driven by a lot of things. When we sit down to write, we try to ignore everything we know about music, and just focus on the melodies that inspire us. Whether we just wrote a 3 note chord progression, or composed a large orchestral piece, we want it to be something that fills us up. That gives us goose bumps. I think this band really strives for that, to find a balance between making rock music and something simply beautiful. GreenlandLive.net Asks - What message/s are you delivering to the world? We just trying to tell stories that people can connect with. Were no politicians or priests and we certainly have no place telling people how to their lives, but we are just trying to make music that comes from a very honest and open place. Hopefully our fans find some kind of solace or connection with that. GreenlandLive.net Asks - What does your latest album portray? We're putting out an EP on May 2nd for a limited run. The tracks are all about events in our lives while we were searching for a new path to take in music. Whether it's simply a song about unrequited love, or realizing that there are always people that will be there for you. All the songs we create come from a very real place for us. GreenlandLive.net Asks - What roles do each member of the band act out/play? Wes and I are older than everyone else... so I guess it's kind of a 2 dad scenario. Haha. Everyone works really hard. We just want to do this forever so we take on whatever roles are neccesary to make that happen. GreenlandLive.net Asks - Describe a defining moment for your band. A defining moment for me was the first time I hear 'More Ripley, Less Darrow' when it was mixed. Sometimes you get so close to the music you make, that you can't really listen to it. You get so focused on the little things, that you forget that what you're making is music. I hit play, and all of a sudden, I realized what my life had been leading up to. That all of the tragic or amazing things I've been through, were shaping this moment. I've never been as proud of anything as I am of this band. And I hope that never changes. This is only the begining for us. I can't wait to see where we'll go. |
